This is exactly what I am thinking and picking up from the cues of Nagi's father, although he's shrouded in mystery, he's a genuine guy meaning I honestly sense no deceit emanating from him, so when he says that Nagi's older brother "does not exist," I believe him and that the one in the photo beside Amano is in fact Nagi before something traumatizing happened.

Seriously though they need to stop hinting at things and give us a reveal because I want to understand Hiro's mystery as well as some romantic scenes for once rather than keeping the harem route going.

that makes a lot of sense, they probably did it for money, if we watch previous episodes Nagis parents were delinquents during their youth so probably they didn't even graduate from high school, and after Ericka's biological mom got pregnant, there's no way they could have enough money to support their babies, so that's where Nagis biological parents came, they offer money in change to swap their kids, and with that money they were able to open their family restaurant which it helped to support their family

It doesn't sound that far fetched, given the hint by dad that either Sachi or Erika works for the engagement. So, they exchanged them knowingly and there was a clause in the deal that their kids had to marry in the future. Other than that, clearly the older brother is Nagi himself - most likely some medical stuff involved in why he doesn't remember.
